Inserting and Using Widgets

What are widgets?

Widgets are tools that allow you to display sections of content from one page on other pages on your website.

Why should I use widgets on my website?

Widgets can provide additional value to your potential clients by offering them extra content that might be relevant to their interests.
For example, if a potential client reads a blog post on a particular topic, you might want to provide them with a group of related links to explore using the "Link Groups" widget; alternatively, you could provide them with information about the attorney who wrote the post using the "Attorney Profiles" widget.
LawLytics offers seven widgets:
  • Blog Posts
  • Recommendations
  • Case Results
  • Attorney profiles
  • Link Groups
  • Maps
  • Free Form
Widgets can be inserted in any content editor with a toolbar, as well as the sidebar of your website.

How do I use widgets on a page?

Navigate to the page where you'd like to use the widget. To insert widgets, click the widget icon on the toolbar.

  • “Float-left” will shift the widget left and wrap text around it.
  • “Float-right” will shift the widget right and wrap text around it.
When you’re done, click “Insert.”

Maps Widget

Office location maps are automatically generated and created in the LawLytics system. You can manually add an additional map to a page using the maps widget.
Note: For the maps widget to work correctly, the address formatting for both the maps widget and the office location(s) must be identical.
For example, if your law firm is located at:
1234 Main Street, Memphis, TN 37501
An address written as:
1234 Main St., Memphis, TN 37501
will not be considered identical to the first address.

Free Form Widget

If you’re interested in using a free form widget, please contact us so that we can assist you.
This widget is used for custom work to insert images, audio files, Vimeo videos, and more.
Because this widget requires some programming knowledge, using the free form widget incorrectly may interfere with content formatting on your website.
