Creating and Managing Leads

Potential clients who engage with your law firm online can be defined as “leads.” LawLytics makes it easy for you to store contact information for leads and see when they return to your website.

There are three types of leads:

An “Active” lead can be defined as a web visitor who may be a qualified potential client.

A “Won” lead can be defined as a web visitor who has become a client of your law firm. These leads can also be called “Conversions.”

A “Lost” lead can be defined as a web visitor who is not retained by your law firm.

This system allows you to easily organize web visitors by their likelihood of becoming a potential client as well as web visitors who have become clients of your law firm.

To access Leads, hover over the Leads navigation item in the blue bar at the top of your screen. Select either Active, Won, or Lost.

You will see a list of leads (Active, Won, or Lost) in the left sidebar. You can also search for specific leads.

Adding a Lead

To add a lead, you can create a manual submission or add a lead via Form Submissions.

To add a lead manually, click the green “New” button in the top left corner. Fill out the fields associated with your lead:

First Name

This is the first name of the lead.

Last Name

This is the last name of the lead.

Practice Type

If your law firm has multiple practice types -- for example, family law and criminal defense -- you can choose the practice type associated with your lead by selecting a label from the drop-down menu.

Conversion Probability

Conversion probability indicates the likelihood that a lead will be retained by your law firm.

Phone

This is the lead’s primary phone number.

Email

This is the lead’s email address.

Referral Source

If your lead came from a specific referral source, you can enter it here. Referral sources may include social media, another attorney, or a former client, among others.

When you’re done entering information, click “Create Lead.”

Editing Leads

You can edit a lead once it has been created. Edit their status as either Active, Won, or Lost by selecting from the drop-down menu. Edit their contact information by clicking “Edit” in the top-right corner.

You can also delete leads, or send them a capture email.

You can also add notes to the lead for your reference. To add a note, click "New."

Note: While your LawLytics Control Panel is secure, we do not recommend you enter confidential or sensitive information.

When leads are created manually, their IP or location is not captured. To add a lead’s IP or location, send them a capture email.
