You can access your LawLytics site(s) from the "Sites" area of the Publish menu. If you have multiple sites, each site is self-contained and has its own unique settings and styling.
To access your site, hover over the Publish link at the top of your screen, then click “Sites” in the black bar beneath.
Once you click "Sites," you’ll see one or more boxes, depending upon how many LawLytics websites you have. Each box will match one of your LawLytics websites, plus one box for “New Site.” An example is shown below:
Tip: Hovering over a domain will reveal an “eye” icon. To preview your site, click this icon. The preview is a replica of what your live website will look like. Once your site is launched, all edits and changes made will immediately affect your live site and your preview.
If you want to add a new site to your LawLytics account, let us know by sending a message to [email protected]. We will contact you to help you choose the plan that makes the most sense for your firm. To understand when multiple sites may benefit your law firm, please refer to this blog post.
To access the advanced settings for your website, click the “Settings” tab above the left sidebar. These include General Settings, Custom Scripts, Advanced SEO, and DNS.
The "General Settings" tab lets you edit your site's details, including your site’s name. You can also choose to have your site be your “primary site.” When a site is marked as "primary," this designation informs search engines that the primary site takes priority when duplicate pages exist on multiple websites (such as office locations and attorney bio pages). This helps your site avoid a duplicate content penalty from search engines while maintaining useful information on secondary site(s) for web visitors.
You can also choose to delete your site. Doing this will remove all of your site’s data from your LawLytics account and your site from the web. This is irreversible without our intervention. Please do not delete your site unless you are certain that you want all of the information on your site to be removed.
Our support and design teams frequently use this section to customize your site. Removing anything from this section could interfere with your site’s functionality.
This section allows you to edit your Robots.txt file, which is a file that tells search engine robots what to do on a sitewide basis. If you're interested in using the robots.txt file but you're not sure how, please contact us. We're happy to walk you through it. Misuse of this feature can harm your site.
You can also add your Google Webmaster Tools confirmation code. For more information on this, please click here.
There’s also a section for your Video Sitemap. This is a standard .xml sitemap, however, you customize it specifically for videos you have. This tool is optional and is meant for advanced users with extensive video libraries.
This section allows you to manually update your website’s A, CNAME, and MX records. These records tell the internet how to interact with your website.
There can be intermittent issues when LawLytics users attempt to change their own DNS settings. For this reason, it is best to communicate any DNS changes that you need with our support team by submitting a support ticket.
Note:: The advanced settings can harm your site if used improperly. If you are not sure how to make changes correctly, please contact our support team. We're happy to assist you.
