Adding, Editing, and Deleting Pages
There are two types of pages on your LawLytics site: index pages and normal pages.
Index pages are automatically generated when your site is created. These pages are populated from elsewhere in your LawLytics control panel. Index pages include:

Creating a New Page
Normal pages are those edited through the content editor in the site's menu. You can add new normal pages by clicking “New Page” from the dashboard.
You'll be provided a list of all of the websites/domains in your LawLytics account. Each domain has its own box that you can click on. You can also access this page by navigating to Publish > Sites > yourdomain.com.
Once you click on the box with your domain, you’ll be taken to your homepage editor. A list of all of your pages will appear in the left sidebar. Above the left sidebar is a small green “New Page” button. To access an empty editor on the right side, click this button.
This is the title of your page. The long title appears on the page, while the Short Title appears in the navigation bar on your website. The long title is used in making your HTML Title Tag. Search engines read this title tag to learn more about the content on your page.
Above the Title box are two checkboxes:
Display in Navigation
This box allows you to select your page as a "Nav" Page or an "Other" Page. Nav pages appear in the main navigation on your site, while Other pages are live on your site, but can only be found with a direct link.
This will enable or disable your sidebar on the page.
You can choose another page that is already on your website to be designated as a “parent” page. Once a page is designed as a “parent,” a “child” page is nested underneath. The drop-down for “Parent Page” includes a list of every page that is live on your website.
For more information on nesting, parent, and child pages, click here.
This is your primary content editor. Within the content editor, you can add and edit the substantive content on the page. To learn how to format content, click here.
Remember: You can add content to your Index pages, but they are also populated from other parts of your LawLytics control panel. To learn how to add content to your index pages, see the links at the top of this article. Return to top
The Advanced SEO section allows you to add specific meta tags to each individual page. Click on the arrow to expand the Advanced SEO tab. For more information on meta tags, click here.
The Redirects section allows you to redirect other pages to the page you’re currently editing. Click on the link to cause the Redirects tab to expand.
Here's an example of when you may want to use a redirect. Take the example page, yourdomain.com/example. You want a second page, yourdomain.com/sample to be redirected to the first page. This means that, if someone attempts to access the page yourdomain.com/sample, they will instead be sent to yourdomain.com/example. To redirect, you'll add “/sample” into the redirects section onto the “/example” page.
Once your page is ready to be published, click the green “Publish” button at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, you can click “Save As Draft” in order to save your changes while keeping the page from being published.
Once a page is published, it can be edited. To edit a page, select any page from the left sidebar and edit any part of the content editor on the right-hand side. Once you are satisfied with your changes, click the green “Publish” button again to save your changes.
Once a page is published, you have multiple options:
- Publish the page - This will save the page with any edits you’ve made and publish them to your website.
- Unpublish the page - This will remove the page from your website while keeping the page in your account. Unpublished pages have a gray “eye” icon in the left sidebar. Changes are not saved.
- Delete - Deleting a page will permanently remove it and all of its content from your website. When you delete a page, it is not reversible.
Note: You cannot delete Index pages. If you do not want to use an Index page, you must unpublish the page.
