Creating Site Disclaimers

For your convenience, your LawLytics account contains disclaimer templates. These disclaimers are displayed on every LawLytics site and can be accessed from each site through links at the bottom of each page.

How do I add a disclaimer to my website?

To add a disclaimer, navigate to the “Libraries” tab in the LawLytics control panel. From the dropdown menu that appears, select “Disclaimers.”

Note: Changes made to disclaimers will update them across your entire LawLytics site. The only customizable disclaimer is the Universal Disclaimer. To learn more about the Universal Disclaimer, read on.

Adding Custom Disclaimers (The "Universal Disclaimer")

If your state bar ethics rules require a disclaimer on every page (in addition to the links to your terms, privacy policy, and anti-spam policy), you can create a custom universal disclaimer.
This will appear in the footer area of every page on each of your sites. If you'd like to create a custom universal disclaimer, navigate to the “Libraries” tab in the LawLytics control panel. From the dropdown menu that appears, select “Disclaimers”. Select “Universal Disclaimer” in the menu on the left-hand side.
Enter your disclaimer in the box and click “Update Document”.

Client Confidentiality and Privacy Considerations

While your LawLytics control panel is shown to you via a secure connection, the sites and blogs that your clients and potential clients see are not encrypted. This means that information sent to you via your LawLytics hosted sites and blogs could be intercepted or compromised.
We do not recommend that your clients and potential clients share confidential or sensitive information with you via LawLytics forms. You may want to advise web visitors to save confidential information for telephone conversations or in-person meetings.
Forms may be emailed to you and other users in your firm depending on your form settings. Always check to see who is a recipient on each forms distribution list (which indicates who will receive the form submissions by email). Even if a firm member is not included on an email list associated with a form, it is possible for that firm member to view the form from within their LawLytics control panel depending on their level of permissions. (To learn more about changing access levels for users, click here.)
If you have questions regarding disclaimers, call us at (800) 713-0161 during our regular business hours, or email us at [email protected].

Note: Changes made to disclaimers will update them across your entire LawLytics site. Only the current disclaimers can be added to your LawLytics site. The only fully-customizable disclaimer is the Universal Disclaimer.
