Custom Email and LawLytics

Many firms choose to create an email address(s) using their website domain in order to have a professional form of contact for their clients. It might look something like: [email protected]. For us as an example, the LawLytics support team uses [email protected].

A custom email address requires special set-up using a third-party email provider. The registrar where you purchased the domain might offer email services. Alternatively, we recommend Google Apps for Work or Rackspace.

You'll want to connect with the third-party email provider to set up your domain email addresses. Once that's done, a few Domain Name System (DNS) records will need to be added. Your email provider will provide details when you get to this step.

If LawLytics hosts your DNS records, send us the new records provided by your email provider and we will happily take care of the rest.

Note: DNS records take many forms. In general, there are TXT, SRV, MX, and CNAME records when it comes to email. Each provider uses these differently. We will need all of the records that your email provider has given you in order to ensure email deliverability.

If LawLytics does not host your DNS records, you'll need to connect with the provider that does in order to add the new records. If you are not sure who hosts your DNS records, feel free to contact us and we'll look into it for you.
